Introduction
A little while ago, a friend challenged me to rank our top 10 video games of all time. Despite initially thinking it would be an easy task, I quickly realized the complexity of the decision-making process. Factors such as first-time feeling, replayability, hours spent, satisfaction, and impact on the genre all needed to be considered and weighted accordingly. After a few days of analysis, my friend and I compared our lists and ultimately decided not to do top 10's together anymore.
Jokes aside, experiences like this led me to realize my inclination towards data-driven decision-making. With over 10 years of experience in strategy, leadership, and retail/sales education, I often found myself frustrated by major decisions being made based on intuition, which can create unnecessary stress and risk. I believe that data scientists are an invaluable asset to corporations, and I'm excited about the ever-changing nature of the field, which allows for constant exploration and growth.
The idea of manipulating massive amounts of data to gain key insights is genuinely exciting to me. I believe that success is not always dependent on external factors, and adopting a mindset where you are in control and doing the best with the cards you have been dealt can lead to more success. Overall, I'm passionate about using data to make informed decisions and drive positive change in the organizations I work with.
